Saturday 12th August 2006 - Sorrento to Venice

We left Sorrento and caught the 12.24 train from Napoli to Venezia, via Roma, Firenze and Bologna. On arrival in Venezia Mestre station on the "mainland", we caught a bus to a very well located cammpsite. Unfortunately it was quite cold and rainy though and we had to wait for the bus for what seemed like ages! We were all glad when our tents were pitched and we could go and get something hot to eat before bed.

The campsite was directly next to the lagoon and you could see Venice proper from our tents.
