Today was to be a quiet day, relaxing and having fun. Relaxing wasn't a problem, but once again it rained, so the fun bit was harder to achieve. That said, the more time we spend on Vancouver Island, the more we realise it's not the most exciting place we've ever been to! (in fact we kind of think it sucks at present).
The campground has wireless internet access so Martin spent some time catching up on business issues in the morning and Bekky hit MySpace. We drove out to the beach at Parksville later on and read our books and threw the frisbee around. That was as exciting as the day got.
Actually, that's not true. After the beach, we went back to the campground and played a round of mini golf. And Martin was *robbed*!!! The results were: 1st place - Marina, 2nd - Bekky, 3rd - Jack and propping up the foot of the table.... Martin! It's a silly game anyway.
Early in the evening, we drove to Port Alberni in the centre of the island and had a meal overlooking the obligatory Canadian Lake.
Back at the campground, we finished off the day with a few rounds of cards. Tomorrow we leave this campground and drive towards the Pacific west coast in search of somewhere to stay....reservations are not possible and it's the weekend, so we may find it a challenge!
No photos were taken today.....
