Another day trip to Wintours Leap, this time with Derek. The weather forecast was not 100% ideal... but the actual weather turned out to be just that... perfect. We climbed one route only, one of Martin's favouries, Nibelheim (VS 4C). Apart from struggling to find the start of the route within the "jungle" at the foot of the cliff, the day was happily uneventful and simply great fun.
As always, the high point was the crux at the top of pitch 3. Martin had led this pitch a few weeks ago with Paul but after clipping the peg on the steep, blank section, had traversed a metre or so to the left and climbed over the slightly overhanging final challenge at an easier point. This time Martin traversed right to clip another peg with his right-hand rope and then took the finish direct, which was much more challenging and satisfying.
