Sunday. After waking very early at about 5:30 a.m.thanks to a very confused body clock, Martin went for a nice long walk, through Cubban Park back to Vidhana Sabha and then up the "MG" road where all the shops are. At the sight of shops and the association with shopping, Martin quickly fled the area and walked back to the hotel past St Mark's Cathedral and through a strange suburban district that was full of IT companies. At the hotel, lazing by the pool quickly got very, very dull, so Martin headed out on foot again, walking most of the way to Lal Bagh and then taking an auto-rickshaw the remainder of the way.
It was a hot, hot day and Lal Bagh was a nice place to spend it. The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly, with families walking and picnicing, couples sitting under the shady trees and kids playing. Martin walked for a while and then sat in the shade reading and talking to people.
Watched Donnie Darko in the evening.
