Day 1 in Hong Kong, a Saturday, was spent as follows: making an early start, the first destination was Mount Victoria, known as "The Peak", where a decent view of Hong Kong can be obtained.... sometimes. HK seems quite polluted and the visibility was very poor much of the time. After taking a bus half way down frmo The Peak, I walked the rest of the way from there to the Causeway Bay area in the Wan Chai district and explored a bit. At lunchtime, I caught the Star Ferry across to Kowloon and did some more exploring, walking for miles and seeing the "goldfish market" and the Kowloon Walled City park. Later, I returned to Hong Kong Island and explored the Central District with its weird shops, then went to "Soho" and enjoyed a cold beer in one of the "fashionable" bars on Staunton Street. Later I had a cheap meal somewhere in Wan Chai again.
